AP Capstone Awards: Celebrating Academic Excellence

High School Students Earn 44 AP Awards in the 2023-24 School Year

The AP Capstone program, offered by the College Board, has provided our High School students with a valuable academic opportunity, offering a level of rigor and depth comparable to a university environment. Consisting of two core courses – AP Seminar and AP Research – in addition to four other AP exams, the program aims to develop essential skills for academic and professional success, such as research, critical analysis, and effective communication.

We are honored to celebrate the achievement of five students from the Class of 2024 who have earned their AP Capstone Diplomas. Pedro Bernardes, Melissa Cordeiro, Arthur Divyananda, Liam Medeiros, and Lucas Munhoz have reached this significant milestone, a result of years of learning and dedication. To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students must score 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research, along with four additional AP exams of their choosing. This diploma is officially recognized in their AP score reports sent to universities, highlighting their exemplary academic performance.

In addition to these individual accomplishments, the school community celebrates the achievement of forty-four AP Capstone awards by High School students during the 2023-24 school year.

See below for the students who have distinguished themselves with these achievements:

What is AP Capstone?

AP Capstone is a highly respected diploma program offered to students who demonstrate proficiency and excellence through two central courses: AP Seminar and AP Research. The program offers student-centered learning and incorporates performance-based assessments. Both courses prepare students for college and career success by developing skills in critical thinking, academic research, collaboration, presentation, and time management.

We congratulate all the students who participated in AP courses and earned awards along their academic journeys. The success and dedication demonstrated by our students reflect the school's continued commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of each individual.
