Arts Day 2017

For Arts Day, students share their artwork with the School community, and local artists present their work and offer workshops in the visual arts, theater, and music.

This year students had a play rehearsal for parents. Elementary and Secondary teachers gave workshops, and parents and alumni volunteered. One mother with a music teacher from Elementary taught students how to make musical instruments from recycled materials.

Local business also took part. The company Fashion Teen offered a unicorn and cat headband workshop. Arte de Areia taught students how to make colored sand. Orange Tree Studios painted a beautiful mural. Former student, Nabil Sami, set up a photography exhibition. There was a print exhibition by Hermurshe. Espaço Robótica had a Drone Piloting contest. So many awesome artists gave great workshops. We also had classes on tie dye, face painting, dance presentations, and cooking, and students painted a beautiful mural on the walls of the cafeteria.

This year the writer, actress, comedian, journalist, psychologist, and mother of two, Ms. Maria Paula Fidalgo, give a drama workshop for students.

Each Art teacher also offered a presentation of their own. Students love it when we bring the world of art world into School.
